Scarlett forest wip

This is a idea I had where I wanted to play around with a charcoal under drawing. I applied vine charcoal in various ways and then used a water color sponge dry to smudge the charcoal. Then I sprayed it with mineral spirits and then let it dry and the added fixative. The mineral spirits add a stipled effect while blending the charcoal.

The next step is to and pastels. My goal was to do a red painting at the time I had Scarlett red. I used prmo charcoal generals black and white to lighten or darken the colors.

The closer something is the darker something is and the farthest something is the lighter. I wanted all the color to be in the center and the outer parts to be muted.
